Well, I thought I'd get a 'Blog so I could put down some (hopefully intelligent) thoughts on some of the things related to the two sites...
Except that I can't think of anything to kick thing off, soI'll just say a few things about what sci-fi series I'm actually watching at the moment.
Dead Like Me (Friday 9pm, Sky One) is the only series that I'm watching that's currently running on TV over here. Although, as usual, Sky One leaves a lot to be desired. The pilot episode runs for 74 mins, but somehow they managed to fit it into an 80 minute slot and still run the usual amount of ads and Sky One promos.
Sky One's editing is often bizarre, but this was strange even by their standards. The swearing - and this really is fucking swearing, not just the mild stuff you might get on Buffy - was left in, the bits they cut seemed innocuous and they had to start the following programme at the strange time of 10.20pm. Weird.
We've only had four episodes so far, but at the moment I'm thoroughly enjoying this one, although you do have to wonder how long they can keep it interesting. Time will tell, I guess.
Everything else is on video or DVD:
Doctor Who (obviously). As well as watching season 2 for Planet-SF, I'm also watching the end of season 6 - The War Games is next - and the end of season 22 - The Two Doctors was the most recent. So a bit of a Troughton trip at the moment, which is no bad thing.
Babylon 5 - I've just started season 4, but the way that the series appears to have been transferred to DVD has put the mockers on my plans to upgrade my videos. (Although since I haven't got season 5 on sell-through, I might relent for that set.)
Survivors - just started rewatching this one, and the DVD set is on my list of ones to buy. Just a shame that it's a bloody long list...
The X Files - season 5
Alias - season 1. Another one on the "must-buy" list...
