The
EARTHLY POSSESSIONS storyline finishes,
and to be honest, it's a bit of disappointment.
A
little investigative work has Angel quickly on the trail of Gaetano Noe. Meanwhile, the not-so-good Father has problems of his own, with his band
of demons getting restless and a certain LA law firm finding his case
too much of a liability.
The
inevitable fight sees Angel kicking a little demon ass, but apart from
an unexpected reappearance from Doyle's ex Harry, the story peters out,
and yet again, the conclusion leaves us with the possibility of a sequel.
Now
that there are only two regular characters, it's surely fair enough to
expect both of them to be given a decent slice of the action? However,
while Angel is out kicking butt, Cordelia gets very little to do, and
has about one half-decent line (although she gives a cute wink when she
says it).
Harry's
return allows for some reflection on the loss of Doyle, but even so, the
story doesn't really justify its three part length. Splitting the
story either side of Doyle's death made the first couple of parts more
interesting than they would have been otherwise, but this part had far
too little going on.
