Even
though NBC heavily promoted its Tuesday night 75th anniversary

pulled in an 8.6/13, followed by The WB (5.2/8), Fox (5.1/8)
and UPN (3.0/4).

ADDED:
24.04.02
Roswell
returned to UPN last night, but the viewers didn't, as the show
was again the least watched show on any of the six major networks
according to the overnight metered market ratings.
NBC
won the 9pm hour, with repeats of Frasier, 8.5 rating/12
share, and Scrubs, 6.5/9, which was enough to see off
the challenge from CBS's The Guardian, 6.6/10, although
this did edge out NBC for the 9.30pm half-hour.
ABC
was third, with a repeat of Philly, 6.2/9, ahead of Fox's
24, 6.0/9. As usual, The WB's Smallville, 4.8/9,
was well ahead of Roswell's 2.0 rating/3 share. The return
of new Buffy episodes from next week might spark a slight
ratings rise for Roswell, but the series could well be
ending with a damp squib ratings-wise. BACK

ROSWELL
REPLACEMENTS SLUMP
06.03.02
- Roswell
might be on hiatus until April, but if UPN was planning to permanently
replace it with As If and Random Years, it may
think again after the shows' premieres pulled dismal ratings.
Following
on from Buffy's 4.3 rating/7 share, As If lost
56% of its lead-in, with a 1.9 rating/3 share, followed by Random
Years' 1.5/2. The two series trailed a repeat of The
WB's Smallville, 4.1/6, by an average of 59%. Back

RATINGS
FOR PANACEA
13.02.02

in yesterday's overnight metered market ratings.
NBC

peaking in the 9pm hour, with a 20.0 rating/30 share.
CBS
was a distant second, with a repeat of The Guardian pulling
a 6.5/9 (8.5/12), just ahead of Fox's 24, 6.5/9 (6.9/10).
The
WB's Smallville was the only show to improve its ratings
from the previous week, rising from a 5.4 rating/8 share to
a 5.7/8.
Two
repeats of Whose Line is it Anyway both pulled a 4.5/6
for ABC (NYPD Blue, 8.7/12), with Roswell's 2.4/3
(2.5/4) rounding out the pack again. Back

9.1/13 - the latter being tied with ABC's NYPD Blue (8.7/12)
for the back half-hour. CBS's The Guardian was
third with an 8.5 rating/12 share.
Fox's
24 improved off the back of lead-in That 70s Show,

I
MARRIED AN ALIEN
30.01.02
- Despite The WB and UPN being the only networks not showing
the State of the Union Address, Roswell still finished
at the back of the pack in last night's overnight metered market
ratings.
NBC's
transmission of the address was the most watched, with a 9.8
rating/14 share (Frasier, 10.0/15 and Scrubs,
8.7/13), edging out ABC (NYPD Blue, 6.5/10).
CBS
was third, despite having the best lead-in, slipping from a
7.9/11 at 8pm to 7.5/10 for 9pm (last week: The Guardian,
9.5/14).
The
WB rose to fourth, with Smallville building on its lead-in
on its way to a 6.1/9 (4.2/6). Roswell, with a
2.8/4, was up on last week's Buffy repeat (2.3/3), but
still bottom of the pile for the night as a whole. Back

ROSWELL
AIRS NEW EP, BUT FINISHES LAST
02.01.02
- With the exception of ABC's broadcast of the Sugar Bowl, Roswell
was the only show not airing a repeat last night, and the
series still ended up in last place.
ABC
won the 9pm hour, with coverage of Illinois vs. LSU, which averaged
an 8.3/12 from 8.30-11pm.
CBS
was second with The Guardian, 8.1/11, followed by NBC
with repeats of Frasier (7.1/10) and Scrubs (4.4.6).
In fourth place was Fox with The Bernie Mac Show (5.6/8)
and Grounded For Life (4.4/6), followed by the second
part of a Gilmore Girls double on The WB, 4.0/6.
A
Tale of Two Parties rounded out all six networks, with a
2.4 rating/4 share, although at least it retained the majority
who watched the repeat of Buffy (2.5/4) beforehand.

SAMUEL
RISING, BUT RATINGS AREN'T
19.12.01
- Despite two networks airing repeats in the 9pm slot, a new
episode of Roswell still ended up the least watched show
of both the hour and the night as a whole.
NYPD
Blue won the hour according to the overnight metered market
ratings, with a 9.4 rating/14 share (last week: 9.7/14).
NBC
was second, with a repeat of Frasier pulling an 8.8/13
(10.7/16), followed by a repeat of Scrubs, 6.6/10 (7.8/11).
CBS
was in third place, thanks to The Guardian, 7.5/11 (7.8/12),
followed by Fox's 24, 5.5/8 (5.4/8).
The
WB aired a repeat of Smallville, but even though this
dropped to 3.9/6 (5.8/8), this was still more than enough to
beat a new episode of Roswell, which pulled just a 2.4/4
(1.8/3). However, this was at least up from last week's
repeat rating, which saw the series pull just 1.83 million and
last place for the week as a whole. Back

ROSWELL
UP SLIGHTLY, BUT STILL LAST
28.11.01

in third place thanks to The Guardian, 8.6/12 (8.3/12).
Fox's
24 was up from last week's 5.8/9 to 6.5/9, but this was
still down 12% on the equivalent Dark Angel episode last
year.
24
narrowly beat out The WB's Smallville, 5.9/8 (5.5/8),
for fourth place, with Roswell again well adrift, although
its 2.7 rating/4 share was up slightly from last week's 2.6/4.

of November sweeps, but the series still finished last for the
night as a whole.
The
season premiere of ABC's NYPD Blue pulled an average

dropped off from 9.30-10pm with Scrubs dropping to a
