SHIRI'S
ASSIGNMENT
Paying for all those
channels that you have no interest in produced a surprise last Monday (12
March 2001) when Animal Planet ran the Shiri's Assignment episode
of Emergency Vets.
Admitting that she
thought she'd be mending birds' broken wings, Shiri actually met a dog who
had eated a rock, a golden retriever with a burst tumour, a sick gecko and
a gopher snake (which she actually handled).

from the episode, most of which are linked to larger versions (just click

Most of the photos are
fairly self-explanatory, but here we can see Shiri handling the snake
(after her initial hesitation when she pulled her hands inside her
sleeves), listening as a young boy is told his pet gecko has died,
watching as the retriever is put to sleep and puckering up to a dog.
