Filling the gap between the
first and second volumes of The Watcher's Guide, this
a fun record of the Scooby Gang's time at Sunnydale High.
The bulk of the book is made
up of the short of things you'd expect to find in a yearbook - reports of
school activities and clubs, and short profiles of the class of '99.
Anyone who's watched the first three seasons will be able to spot plenty of
familiar names amongst the students - not just the Scooby Gang, but also
characters who only appeared in one or two episodes.
Dotted throughout the book
are tons of comments, mostly "written" by the Scooby Gang - most
of the regulars sign the inside cover, and in true Out of
Mind, Out of Sight fashion, the back cover is plastered with loads of
"have a nice summer" comments. In addition, there are
some nice in-jokes in the comments that have been added to most of the
articles.
Rounding things off, there
are 32 pages of colour photos - mostly familiar ones, but there are some
nice ones amongst all the usual suspects. However, whilst making the Yearbook
nice and glossy, this does have the side-effect of spoiling the illusion
that it is an actual Sunnydale High Yearbook.
It probably has another
side-effect of jacking up the price and, although a nice package with some
neat in-jokes for fans, it has to be said that with an official price of
nearly thirteen quid, the Sunnydale High Yearbook is
pretty expensive for the actual content.
