Three
stories from the first half of season two are brought together
here with a brief prologue and epilogue to tidy things up.
As
with the other Pocket Books' novelisations, Richie Tankersley
gives us a pretty straightforward adaptation of the televised
episodes in question (Halloween and both parts of What's
My Line?) with some brief descriptive passages.
The
result is an relatively enjoyable, if brief, read that isn't
too taxing on either the reader or their pocket.
To
be honest, though, I'd rather have seen Halloween and
School Hard included together along with some flashback
material as a Spike and Dru collection, and a separate book
to cover both parts of What's My Line? Had both
books been around the usual Pocket Books' novelisation length
of 200-220 pages, it would have been a more interesting read
than what we have here.
On
the plus side, all three episodes are pretty good for the first
half of season two, and at least we're spared Kendra's annoying
accent!
Hardly
an essential purchase, but just about worth it for completists
and those who haven't seen the episodes in question.
