PLOT
Catherine and Angel continue to
plan how to deal with the return of the Hollower, remembering the previous
encounters with it and how they defeated it to help them in their
struggles. Meanwhile Buffy and Giles get mixed up with the return of
the Hollower, and plan on tracking it down themselves, to the suprise of
Angel who wants Buffy to have nothing to do with it. But when Buffy
learns of the Hollower's powers, she thinks she knows why Angel wants to go
after it without her help, if it were to try to suck the demon out of him,
perhaps it would just leave his soul behind, allowing him to walk free
amongst the rest of mankind!

ART
Ugh! Gomez finally comes back
to earth, and starts drawing Giles badly again, as well as all the other
characters, apart from Angel, although in the flashback sequences he is only
barely recognisable. Also another thing that spoils the issue is the
return of Guy Major's green vampires. Someone grab all his green
crayons and replace them with grey now!
STORY
Most of the action takes place in
flashback this issue, which slows the pace down since we know the Hollower
was defeated the first time around. Also for a mini-series named Angel
Buffy and Giles seem to be featuring an awful lot.
OVERALL
It was a hard act to follow after
issue one, and both Gomez and Golden failed to keep up the standard they
set. Only one issue left and the series has already proved no match
for The Origin, let's hope that Gomez and Golden can deliver a good
final issue though, then all these little errors can be forgotten.
