And so the Bad Blood
saga drags on. Part five of the nine-part arc saw things pick up
slightly, but the momentum doesn't really continue with Lost Highway.
The vampires with the bad
blood find their increased strength makes them targets for the rest of
Sunnydale's vamp population and, with Buffy getting a rare night off to go
to a gig outside town, Giles and Angel are out on patrol.
Except Buffy's planned lift
from Joyce falls through and she decides to drive to the gig herself,
colliding with one of the vampires that Giles and Angel let escape.
There's a reasonable fight
when Buffy's "victim" and her fellow vamps go after the Slayer,
but you have to question the Buffster's intelligence when after hitting
someone with her car and not finding a body she doesn't seem to think
there's a something supernatural at work.
Meanwhile, there's the
less-than-rivetting continuation of the Doc's attempts to clone the
Slayer. Despite his latest attempt failing, we know he's going to
succeed so dragging it out like this is just getting tedious. And
tedium is something that Bad Blood can well do without at the moment.
Two-thirds of the way
through the Bad Blood arc and it's about time that things start to
move along. Unsurprisingly, the last piece of Slayer bone produces the
results (so why bother dragging things out for this long?) so hopefully the
last three parts will finally see some action.
