PLOT
Christmas
is closing in on the residents of Sunnydale, and Buffy decides
to get a job in the mall, so that she can get a dress and looks
beautiful for the school dance. But it looks like Buffy
has picked the wrong place to work; the owner has a mysterious
fascination with elementals, and working at Popsicle Parlor
is the prime place to call up ice elementals, but being on the
Hellmouth, not everything goes to plan.
ART
The
first issue that Xander and Willow look like the actors, but
sadly the rest of the characters are unrecognisable - even Buffy
fails to look like Sarah Michelle Gellar for the first time.
STORY
Great
story and dialogue, especially Cordy. After the mall gets
destroyed and the gang are nearly all killed, her only comment
is "My mall. My beautiful mall."
OVERALL
Well
the standard did slip, but it took Bennett three issues to find
his feet, so I'll give Gomez until #6 before I start a "get
rid of Gomez" campaign. BACK
