WEEK IN SCI-FI: 15-21 AUGUST This week on Girls Kick Ass Charisma Carpenter on Charmed, Katherine Heigl in The 9th Passenger - click here. Boreanaz on Angel movie David Boreanaz told TV Guide that he's willing to do an Angel movie, but not on TV. "It would have to be a theatrical release," he says. "I'm not into the movie-of-the-week [idea]." WB execs said they were interested in doing TV films. "I know they wanted to do, like, six films," Boreanaz added, "It's not that I'm against it; it just needs to be a bigger challenge. When you do something for five seasons, you want to continue to challenge yourself... go to another level with it rather than just doing the same thing you've been doing." Next up for Boreanaz is the comedy Mr. Fix It and he's also signed up for another high-profile franchise film that he insists is not Superman. "It's better," he teases, adding, "'Four' would be the magic number - that's all I'm going to say." He could mean Jurassic Park 4, Fantastic Four, or Indiana Jones 4. Charmed guest star had crush on Milano He had a crush on her, but Alyssa Milano doesn't mind - she thinks "he's hot". Nick Lachey told Access Hollywood that he had to tell his Charmed co-star about his former crush to avoid the humiliation of having her find out from someone else. Lachey plays Milano's love interest in an upcoming six-episode arc on the show. "The first day I came I said, 'I'm just going ... to tell you right now that your poster was hanging in my locker. Because you're going to hear about it and I don't want to be embarrassed later on.'" Milano says the feeling is mutual. "His eyes are like lavender," the 31-year-old actress told the show. "I can't even look at him when I'm working with him. Yeah, he's hot." The new season of Charmed premieres on The WB on 12 September. When Lachey was asked if his pop star wife, Jessica Simpson, would have a problem with his on-screen lip lock with Milano, the 30-year-old singer replied: "I'm in the clear here because when she did That '70s Show, she had to kiss Ashton [Kutcher]. They did like five takes of the scenes, so I got a free pass on the kiss thing!" Dalek veteran wants comeback With the BBC having secured the rights to the Daleks in the new series of Doctor Who, bbc.co.uk reports that John Scott Martin has offered to step back into the role of Dalek operator. The 77-year-old, who operated the Doctor's arch villains from 1964 to 1989, said he would be happy to reprise the role if asked. "I really enjoyed doing it before," he told BBC News Online. "I would happily run around as a Dalek again." The role required Scott Martin and other operators to squeeze into the Dalek casing, then scuttle around to simulate the Dalek gliding on three caster wheels. Despite it being common knowledge that the Daleks' distinctive voices were provided by voice artists rather than the actors inside the casings, Scott Martin reckons that he was responsible. "The device that changed my voice was obviously at the front of the costume, so if a scene required another actor to stand close to the Dalek, their voice would also sound robotic," he claimed. The heat of the costume meant that inside the Dalek's shell you would find the actor dressed in only a T-shirt and swimming trunks. "It could be difficult at time and I'm not as fit as I used to be, but I'm sure I could do it again," Scott Martin said. A BBC spokeswoman said Doctor Who producers had yet to decide whether Daleks would be fully automated or operated by actors in the forthcoming series. "As we have just secured the rights to use the Daleks we have not begun work on the episodes in which they will appear," she said. Nevertheless Scott Martin said: "I always thought playing a Dalek was as interesing as playing a cow in a pantomime - there was potential to put some personality into it. "We had to believe that the Dalek was not a human being, yet it was still a being. That's not to say it wasn't really nasty." Asked to name a favourite Doctor, Scott Martin refused. Adopting a Dalek voice, he said: "There is no favourite. The Doctor must be exterminated."
