ALIAS AND CHARMED RATINGS FOR 25 APRIL
26 APRIL 2004

With an atypical first-place finish in every half-hour in the overnights, CBS' older-skewing line-up of 60 MINUTES (9.2/16), COLD CASE (11.0/16) and made-for PLAINSONG (10.3/15) fuelled the network to victory with a significant 36 percent advantage over second-place NBC. Although the Eye net will also finish first in total viewers, once the nationals are released look for a fight to the winning adult 18-49 finish line between ABC, Fox and NBC. CBS' strength on Sunday is not in young viewers.

On NBC, a two-hour edition of DATELINE kicked off with a third-place 5.7/9 from 7-9pm, followed by a repeat of LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT (#2: 9.3/13) and an original CROSSING JORDAN (#2: 8.8/13) at typical overnight levels. Unless NBC moves the upscale AMERICAN DREAMS to another night of the week (Wednesday at 8pm is an option), you can expect more of the improved same on NBC Sunday in 2004-05.

Over at ABC, a repeat of the already-renewed AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS averaged a third-place 5.6/9 at 7pm followed by EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION (#2: 6.7/10), ALIAS (#3: 6.8/10), and THE PRACTICE (#3: 7.4/12) all at expected overnight levels. Ditto for Fox with its combination of two episodes of KING OF THE HILL (7pm R: 3.5/6, 7.30pm: 4.4/7), two episodes of THE SIMPSONS (original and repeat: 6.8/10 each), MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE (5.1/7) and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT (4.3/6). Currently, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is the only Sunday comedy on Fox not officially renewed for 2004-05.

On The WB, a repeat of HIGH SCHOOL REUNION opened with a 1.6/3 followed by CHARMED (3.9/6) and an original installment of HIGH SCHOOL REUNION (2.7/4) at typical overnight levels.
