ALIAS AND CHARMED RATINGS FOR 18 APRIL

In another Sunday of seesaw dominance, CBS' older-skewing combination of 60 MINUTES (9.2/16, viewers: 10.78 million) and COLD CASE (10.1/15, viewers: 12.94 million) was first in the overnights and total viewers from 7-9pm while NBC's LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT (9.8/14, viewers: 13.77 million, adults 18-49: 4.6/11) and CROSSING JORDAN (9.1/14, viewers: 13.56 million, adults 18-49: 5.1/13) took the 9-11pm block in households, viewers and adults 18-49. Opposite CRIMINAL INTENT and CROSSING JORDAN, 2001 Morgan Freeman theatrical ALONG CAME A SPIDER was second on CBS with a 6.7/10 from 9-11pm.

Earlier in the evening, trailing 60 MINUTES, the first hour of NBC's DATELINE (5.1/9) was second from 7-8pm in the overnights followed by the just renewed AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS on ABC (4.9/8), two episodes of KING OF THE HILL on Fox (7pm repeat 4.0/7, 7.30pm 4.4/7), and a repeat of HIGH SCHOOL REUNION on The WB (1.6/3). First among adults 18-49 was the KING OF THE HILL double pop (2.8/9) followed by AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS (2.5/9), 60 MINUTES (2.0/7), DATELINE (1.7/6) and HIGH SCHOOL REUNION (repeat, 0.8/3).

At 8pm, two episodes of Fox's THE SIMPSONS (original and repeat: 6.7/10 each) was second behind COLD CASE in the overnights followed by ABC's EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION (6.4/10), the second hour of NBC's DATELINE (6.4/10) and CHARMED on The WB (3.8/6). First among adults 18-49 was THE SIMPSONS double-header (4.3/12) followed by EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION (3.7/11), DATELINE (3.1/9), COLD CASE (2.8/8) and CHARMED (1.8/5). Growth for CHARMED out of the repeat of HIGH SCHOOL REUNION was 125 percent in the demographic.

At 9pm, ABC's ALIAS scored a typical 6.5/9 in the overnights, beating a Sunday edition of Fox's 24 (4.9/7) by a considerable 33 percent. Comparably, 24 was off by 27 percent from lead-in THE SIMPSONS. Among adults 18-49, ALIAS' advantage over 24 (3.8/9 vs. 3.1/8) was 23 percent.

At 10pm, ABC's soon-to-conclude THE PRACTICE was second in the overnights (7.4/12) but third in viewers (10.12 million) and adults 18-49 (3.0/8). BACK TO THE TOP
