KRISTY SWANSON - LATER, MARCH 2001

Accompanied by photos from the same shoot as those in the May 2000 issue of the US edition of MAXIM, film Buffy Kristy Swanson was featured in the March 2001 issue of LATER (actually the feature is pretty similar as well)

You can find more pictures of Kristy on MAXIM USA's website - some nudity but probably less than you'd find in the average red top tabloid

.

The original Buffy tells why blondes have more fun.

Sometimes you don't have to ask where a girl's from.  When LATER saw stunning actress Kristy Swanson being interviewed on American TV a few years back, we were transfixed.  The word 'bombshell' had been lying around unused since the 1950s, but here was a girl for whom it would have to be dusted off.  Then the interviewer asked her if she'd enjoyed riding horses in THE PHANTOM.  Call it a hunch, but something in her reply told us she hailed from California:

"It was a big rush.  Riding on the back of that horse was not the easiest thing in the world because we were in Thailand and it was really hot, and the horse was sweating and I wasn't sitting on a saddle, the Phantom was sitting on a saddle, I was just on the back on the horse's hair, and he's sweating and I'm sliding around trying to hang on.  I didn't really have any footing, so I had to grip my thighs in and hold on for dear life, but my biggest concern was not really falling off, like, it's really muddy there too, so the horse is really having a hard time running in this mud and falling off and spraining my ankle and getting dirty was not my biggest problem, my problem was a wolf behind me."

This girl, we like.

As a small child, Orange County-born Kristy cajoled her parents (both PE teachers) into sending her snapshot to a talent agency in Los Angeles, an act that immediately saw her snapped up for a career in commercials.  Her first was for dolls' houses at the age of nine.  From adverts, she went on to parts in KNOT'S LANDING, FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF, PRETTY IN PINK and HOT SHOTS, but never played the traditional bimbo role.

"I've been fortunate - I haven't been stuck in one role," Kristy says.  "I've played the girl you bring home to Mom, the killer, the hooker, the bitch."  Her big break came in 1992 with BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, in which Kristy took noticeable pleasure in leaping about, breasts a-bouncing,  kicking merry hell out of the undead.

Amazingly, perma-smiling Kristy doesn't even have a chip on her shoulder about the success of the BUFFY spin-off series, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar instead of her.  "I was just kind of sad they didn't ask me to be a technical consultant," she breezes.  She thinks she'd win in a fight between her and the new Buffy, though.  "Me or Gellar?  I would win, because I'm one pillow-fighting badass."

Before Buffy, Kristy was a different kind of slayer in Wes Craven's DEADLY FRIEND.  The first words said about her in that movie are "Nice tits."  She agrees.

"I think I'm OK in that department," she says.  "It's not like they're dragging at my knees.  If someone says, 'Show me your tits,' I don't have to lift up my skirt."

Clearly, Kristy's far from a shrinking violent.  In fact, the irresponsible 30-year-old possesses a rock'n'roll attitude that shows up the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow for the abstemious stick-insects they really are.  The first time she had sex was on a waterbed at her boyfriend's house, while his parents were in the next room.  She enjoys a fine wine and a good cigar, she's gone out with half the young men in Beverly Hills and she truly enjoyed the lesbian kiss with Jennifer Connelly in 1995's HIGHER LEARNING.  In October last year, she was fined $500 after driving around Los Angeles with three times the legal amount of alcohol in her bloodstream.  She laughs the incident off: "I was pulled over by an unmarked vehicle and the officer was in plain clothes.  He said he was a cop and wanted my licence.  I was curious as to if he was a cop...so I put the pedal to the metal and took off.  He chased me!  I didn't think he was a cop but he was!"

Kristy brings the same devil-may-care attitude to appearing half-naked on the pages of a men's magazine.  "I've never done a nude scene in any of my movies, so these photos are the farthest I've ever gone with being so revealing," she says.  We're too polite to point out that they're the farthest any famous actress has gone on our pages.  Never have blonde hair, perfect curves and a sunny disposition been so conveniently packaged in a single girl.  America, we can only say thank you.
