PLOT First of all skip straight from ANGEL #1, missing out anything that may have happened in #2. Next kill off star female, first making her get all scared then have her die off-panel. Third, add main star of TV show in to solve all problems along with her Watcher then hand plot over to the world's worst drawer, wrap in an excellent cover around it and you have BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: ANGEL #3! ART Gomez's art is actually better than the story for the first time ever! The battle between Angel and the Hollower looks quite good and the backgrounds are quite detailed, but the characters are only just recognisable, and Angel begins to look a lot more like Ricky Martin than he did when the series began.
STORY Talk about lame plots. Despite all the development, Cynthia is killed off just when she was getting interesting. All of Cynthia's battle is missed out as is how the vamps came into contact with the Hollower and to make it even worse Giles speaking in the most baffling manner, and we have no clue as to what he is speaking about. This has to be the worst piece of writing ever from Golden (well, maybe except for his brief run on PUNISHER). OVERALL Do not buy this issue. Instead wait for the trade paperback to come along, and then write your own ending, as it has to be much better than this waste of paper. BACK TO THE TOP |
