PLOT

Selke, that vampire who Buffy just couldn't kill in #3, returns to wreak havoc in Sunnydale, although that's not happening till the second act of this nine-part storyline.  In a first for the Buffy comics this story will run over a nine issue run, with two single-issue intervals.  So while Selke seeks out the help of a Doctor to recreate the beauty she held before meeting Buffy, Buffy trains to prepare herself for any potential vampire threats.  Oh, and there's the small factor of her being offered a modelling job.

ART

The return of Joe Bennett should be a good thing, but after last issue's Cliff Richards debut, this issue falls flat.  While not exactly bad, the art is not Bennett's best, and the separations are far too obvious, taking up way too much valuable art space.

STORY

Wow, what a totally boring and uninteresting story.  Either Andi Watson is running out of ideas or Dark Horse have decided to take all the action out of their books.  What a pity a new writer will not be joining the title at the same time as Cliff Richards, and if the rest of this storyline is boring, here's one person who won't be renewing their subscriptions.

OVERALL

To be perfectly frank, there is nothing good to say about this title, other than the fact that the cover looks nice.  Disappointing effort for all involved - Dark Horse really need to get some new blood into the title, and soon. BACK TO THE TOP
